The first 10X Hub pitch-off winners have been selected!
We launched the 10X Hub program in 2021. The goal was to develop two sustainable businesses, train 1,000 entrepreneurs, create 100 jobs, and give access to the Cardone University educational materials to over 300,000 individuals in South Africa within 18 months.
We don’t believe in lowering our targets. So on December 15, 2021, 20 entrepreneurs from the program competed against one another for the chance to win $35,000 in seed money for their growing business.
Those enrolled in the 10X Hub have no internet access except when they participate. Four winners in total have been chosen.
Meet the first 10X Hub Pitch-Off winners
Zane Samuels – Owner of Zane Couture
First, we have 26-year-old Zane Samuels. Her business is called Zane Couture, which is a clothing brand focused on unique clothing pieces. She emphasized she was able to develop a better idea of her target audience through the 10X Hub as well as the skills necessary to determine cost. Zane is using part of her seed money to get better sewing equipment.
Tyron Kyle Adams
Our second 10X Hub pitch-off winner is Tyron Kyle Adams, founder of Kumin & Khords. His combination catering and entertainment business idea came from his experience in the hospitality industry. The rise of gang violence in his area also inspired him to use his business to provide job opportunities to youth in his area.
The next winner is not just strong in business, he is also a three-time cancer survivor. Lee-James’s business, LJC Productions, focuses on marketing and printing in conjunction with graphic design. The 25-year-old says that participating in the 10X Hub has helped him gain a new perspective on how to run his business. We can’t wait to see how he grows his print shop.
Last, our last winner is 19-year-old Danielle Johannessen who prefers to go by Danni. She started her business Danni’s braiding Hub while she was still in school because her family needed income. She says that braiding is the perfect analogy for life. It represents everyday living in South Africa as well as bringing separate areas of your life together into something beautiful. We are impressed she is so wise for someone so young.
So, these are the first ever 10X Hub pitch-off winners. All of these young people show inspiring initiative and promise. If you are interested in knowing how you can get involved, check out our 10X Hub page for more details.
